So you've decided to hunt the platinum or hit that 1000 Gamerscore in High on Life. It's a trip. Honestly, the game is a blast, but the trophy hunt? That can turn into a nightmare if you aren't careful. You're dealing with missable achievements that require you to play the entire game again just because you forgot to buy a specific "product" or didn't stab the right person at the right time.
I've seen so many people reach the end-game only to realize they're locked out of the High on Life trophy guide essentials. It’s frustrating. But don’t sweat it. If you follow a few specific rules—and ignore some of the more chaotic advice out there—you can nail this in a single playthrough. Mostly.
The Missables That Will Ruin Your Day
Let’s talk about the big stuff first. You cannot just "go back" for everything. Once a boss is dead or a dialogue window closes, it's often gone for good.
Kill Slumsley. Yeah, it feels a bit mean, but to get the "Fallout Doesn’t Let You Do This" trophy, you have to blast the annoying kid in the Slums early on. If you walk past him and finish the bounty, you've missed it. Kenny will judge you. Your conscience might too. Do it anyway.
The Stan Situation.
This is the one that trips up the most people. After you get the Jetpack, you’ll find a guy named Stan in Blim City. He’s... well, he’s wearing a trench coat and looks suspicious. He wants to sell you a "Gallon of Alien Cum." Buy it. Do not use it, do not try to get rid of it. You need to finish the final boss with that "product" sitting in your inventory to unlock "Carried Stan’s Load to Completion."
The Applebee’s Bill.
During the story, you’ll end up at an Applebee’s. It’s a whole thing. When the chaos starts and you’re supposed to run out, look at the table. You have to physically interact with the check to pay the bill. If you just run out, you miss the "Eatin' Good in the Neighborhood" trophy. It’s a tiny interaction, easily missed when the screen is shaking and characters are yelling at you.
Your Gatlian Order Matters (A Lot)
Most players just pick whatever bounty looks cool. For a trophy hunter, that’s a mistake. You need to kill Douglas before Krubis.

Why? Because of Sweezy.
When you kill Douglas, you get Sweezy (the Needler-esque gun). You need her specifically for a missable trophy during the Krubis bounty called "Gunning For Your Job."
When you get to the Administration Office in the Krubis mission, pull Sweezy out. Talk to the receptionist, Helen. If Sweezy is equipped, you get a special dialogue option to claim you’re the "new boss." This lets you go into the back and boss around the Moplets. If you do Krubis first, you won't have Sweezy, and you'll have to restart the whole game to get this one.
The Grind: Luglox Genocide and Forums
This is where the "fun" turns into a "slog." There are over 220 Luglox chests scattered across the worlds. You basically can’t finish this until you have every single Gatlian and the Jetpack.
Don't even bother hunting them early. You'll just get annoyed by a chest sitting on a high ledge you can't reach yet. Wait until the "Final Prep" stage of the game.
Secrets of the Luglox
- The Skate Park: You need a Warp Disc for this. You have to beat a high score of about 42,000 points. The easiest way? Use Knifey to grapple the hook point and just keep jumping and reeling. It's cheesing it, sure, but it works.
- The Movie Theater: Another Warp Disc. You have to actually sit there. For a while. It’s part of the experience, I guess.
Then there’s the "Mods Please Ban" trophy. This is arguably the hardest one because it’s been notoriously buggy since launch. It requires you to finish every single forum post in the Bounty Hunter forums. This means killing X amount of specific enemies, getting kills with environmental hazards, and finding hidden locations.

Check your progress constantly. Sometimes the tracker stops counting. If you notice your "Hunk" kills aren't going up, try restarting the game or traveling to a different planet to force a save sync.
Tips for the Trickier Combat Trophies
"We’re All Very Impressed, Trust Me" requires you to juggle an enemy in the air with five shots. This is way easier than it sounds if you use Kenny’s Glob Shot.
- Find a basic grunt.
- Hit them with the Glob Shot to launch them.
- Rapid-fire your standard shots while they're mid-air.
- If they hit the ground, it resets.
For "Eye Scream, You Scream," you need to pop 20 Grunt eyeballs. This is much easier once you have Creature. His "kids" tend to go for the head, but honestly, just using Knifey on weakened grunts is the most reliable way to ensure the "pop" counts toward the total.
Actionable Next Steps for Your Platinum Run
If you're starting a fresh save or cleaning up, here is exactly how to handle the flow:
- Priority 1: Kill Slumsley immediately.
- Priority 2: Stab Gene in your house as soon as Knifey suggests it. He’ll be fine (mostly), and you get a trophy for it.
- Priority 3: Pick the Douglas bounty first. Use Sweezy in the Krubis bounty.
- Priority 4: Buy the drum from the pawn shop and give it to Globo in Blim City. You need to check back on him periodically throughout the game to watch his "rise to fame."
- Priority 5: Buy Stan's product as soon as you have the Jetpack and keep it until the credits roll.
The biggest hurdle in 2026 is still the forum challenges. If you're going for the 100%, make sure you're using environmental kills (like the fans in Dreg Town or the toxic water) whenever possible early on, so you don't have to farm them for three hours after the story ends. Stick to the order, keep Stan's "gift" in your pocket, and you'll clear the list without needing a second pass.
