Finding every single one of the Infinity Nikki whimstar locations is basically the ultimate test of patience in Miraland. You’re running around, looking at these gorgeous vistas, and then Momo starts chirping. There's a star nearby. Somewhere. Usually, it’s tucked behind a pillar or floating 50 feet in the air where you can’t see it. Honestly, it’s a lot.
Whimstars aren't just for show, either. If you want to actually progress through the Heart of Infinity skill tree and unlock those high-tier outfit sketches, you need these pink glowing things. A lot of them. There are 366 Whimstars total in the base game regions, and that’s not even counting the stuff added in later patches like 1.5 or the Serenity Island updates.
Where the Heck Are They?
The world is huge, but the stars are concentrated in specific zones. If you’re trying to 100% a region, you’ve gotta know the counts.

- Memorial Mountains: 7 Whimstars (The easy "starter" pack).
- Florawish: 67 Whimstars (Where things start getting real).
- Breezy Meadow: 88 Whimstars.
- Stoneville: 26 Whimstars (Compact but vertical).
- Abandoned District: 96 Whimstars (The absolute gauntlet).
- Wishing Woods: 82 Whimstars.
If you’re stuck at 66/67 in Florawish, check the Dream Warehouse. There’s a hidden room you can only get into by ground-pounding a breakable floor near the fountain. It's classic "hidden in plain sight" stuff that makes you want to throw your controller.
The Momo Strategy
Seriously, use Momo’s View. Hit V on your keyboard or Up on the D-pad. It pauses time and lets you see through walls. If Momo says a star is near, but you’re staring at a blank brick wall, it’s probably inside the wall or underneath the floor. You can hover over the star in this mode and "track" it, which puts a little marker on your HUD even after you exit the view. Life saver.
The Weird Types of Whimstar Puzzles
Not every star is just sitting there waiting for a hug. Most of them are locked behind weird little chores.
The Animals (Whiminks and Whimfish)
Sometimes the Whimstar is actually a ferret. Or a fish. You'll see these glowing pink creatures—Whiminks—running around. If you run at them like a maniac, they’ll vanish. You need the Bye-Bye Dust outfit (the animal grooming one) to sneak up and groom them. For the Whimfish, you’ve got to swap to the Rippling Serenity outfit and win a fishing minigame that’s slightly harder than the usual ones.

Hidden Star Ornaments
These are the worst. You’ll find a "Whimstar Yarn Ball" or a weird circle on the ground. This triggers a "Hidden Object" search. You have to look at the environment and find a physical object shaped like a star. It could be a painting on a crate, a decorative carving on a roof, or even the way some flower pots are arranged. When you find it, interact with it, and the real Whimstar pops out.
The Chasers and the Timed Runs
You’ll find a star, touch it, and then it bolts. It flies away, and you have to chase it down. Pro tip: Don't just follow the star's trail. It's usually faster than you. You have to predict where it’s going and cut it off. Take the shortcut. Use your bike if the terrain allows it. If it’s a "Collectathon" where 10 little stars appear, focus on a path that lets you glide through most of them without landing.
Buying Your Way Out
If you are genuinely tired of hunting, there is a "cheat" way, but it’s expensive. There’s an NPC named Stray Hatty who hangs out south of the Florawish Stylist’s Guild. This guy will sell you up to 8 Whimstars.
The first one is only 10,000 Blings. Cheap, right? The price scales like crazy. By the time you’re buying the 8th one, he’s asking for 3,000,000 Blings. Unless you’ve been farming gold like a full-time job, you’re probably better off just climbing some more trees.
Curio Domains
These are basically the "Shrines" of Infinity Nikki. You walk into a portal, and you’re in a puzzle room. Sometimes it's parkour, sometimes it's moving boxes to make a ball roll into a hole. They always reward a Whimstar at the end. If you’re missing stars and your map looks clear, check for the Curio Domain icons.

What to Do Next
Don't try to find all 366 in one sitting. You’ll burn out. Instead, focus on one region at a time and use the official interactive map if you can. The best part about the official one is that it can sync with your game data so you don't waste time checking spots you've already cleared.
Once you’ve got a solid stack of stars, head straight to the Heart of Infinity menu. Prioritize unlocking the "Whim Fragrance" nodes first—they give you permanent buffs that make exploration (and finding more stars) way easier. If you're struggling with the high-altitude stars in the Abandoned District, make sure you've finished the "Land of Wishes" quest to have your full movement kit ready.
Check your Wishfield Journal too. Sometimes collecting stars in a specific area triggers a "Travel Companion" reward, giving you extra Blings or materials for your trouble. Happy hunting, and try not to let Momo's constant "Whimstar nearby!" alerts get under your skin too much.
