You’re standing in Fikrul’s fortress. There is a massive, eerie Scorn organ in front of you. It’s got thirteen keys, and if you’re like most Guardians, you’ve probably spent twenty minutes shooting them at random only to get the message "The melody failed to resonate."
Honestly, it’s frustrating. Especially when you know there are hidden doors, exotic tonics, and the final upgrades for the Slayer’s Fang exotic shotgun locked behind those keys.
But here’s the thing: you can’t just walk in and play. The organ actually "grows" as you progress through the Episode Revenant Act 3 story. If you’re missing keys, you haven’t finished your homework with Eido yet. You’ve gotta run the mission multiple times—three, to be exact—to see the full 1-13 layout. Once those keys are all there, the real fun starts.
The Codes You Actually Need
Forget the fluff. You’re here because you want the loot. To make this work, stand on the circular plate in the center of the organ. Shoot the notes in order, then step off the plate to activate it.

If we number the keys 1 to 13 from left to right, here are the sequences that actually do something.
Intrinsic Frame II (Nightsworn Sight II)
Shoot: 2-11-1-10-7-6
You’ll see a message about "ancient gears grinding." To find the reward, head right from the organ into the Right Bailey. A door that was definitely locked before will be open. Go inside, look behind the dead tree, and grab your upgrade. It looks sort of like a stick grenade on the floor.
Intrinsic Frame III (Nightsworn Sight III)
Shoot: 1-4-11-1-4-10
This one triggers the "barrier giving way" prompt. You won’t find the loot right next to the organ, though. You have to play through the mission until you hit the Mirror Gallery (the upside-down dimension). In the room with the massive tree in the middle, check the far end for a newly opened alcove. The upgrade is a knife on the floor.
Intrinsic Frame IV & Exotic Tonic
Shoot: 1-8-1-6
The game tells you there’s "air stirring in a forgotten passage." Head to the Sanctum—that’s the area with the rally banner before the second big encounter. You need to light three braziers here. One is by the door, and the others are tucked away in the mirror dimension of that same room. Lighting them opens a door near the rally flag where you can snag the final frame and a tonic.

The Weird Stuff: Secret Bosses and Shrines
Bungie loves an easter egg, and Kell’s Fall has a few that are actually pretty dark if you pay attention to the lore.
The Uldren Shrine
Shoot: 1-8-4-11-1-6-4-10
"A child yearning for a father." If that doesn't creep you out, I don't know what will. This opens a secret room in the Undercroft. Inside, there’s a literal shrine to Uldren Sov. It’s a small red building you usually just pass by before dropping down. If you go in, the track "Thin Line" starts playing. It’s a heavy moment for Crow fans, but there’s no "loot" here, just vibes.
The Secret Boss: The Organist
Shoot: 10-4-6-1-11-4-8-1
Basically, this is the Uldren code but in reverse. It immediately pulls you into a fight with a secret boss called The Organist. If you’re trying to finish your Act 3 fieldwork, you have to do this. Don't go in unprepared; he's not a pushover if you're soloing on a higher difficulty.
Savathûn’s Laugh
Shoot: 4-7-9-6-2-6-7-1
If you recognize this tune, you’ve been playing Destiny too long. It’s Savathûn’s song. Playing it doesn't give you a gun, but it does trigger her iconic laughter and a bit of dialogue. Kind of a "I'm still here" reminder from the Witch Queen.
Making Sure It Actually Works
I've seen people complain that the codes don't work even when they hit the right notes. Usually, it's one of two things.
First, you have to be standing on the plate. If you jump off mid-sequence, it reset.
Second, the game is picky about the "step off" part. Don't just stand there waiting for a chime. Input the numbers, then walk off the circle.
Also, a quick tip for the "Terrible Mistake" code (1-8-1-9): it’s mostly for candy or low-level tonics. Some people say it’s bugged, but mostly it just doesn't provide a "big" reward like the intrinsic frames do. It's found on a pillar right at the entrance, so it's meant to be a teaser.
Actionable Next Steps for Your Next Run
- Check your quest log. If you don't see all 13 keys on the organ, stop trying to brute force the codes. You need to complete the seasonal "Minor Fieldwork" and progress the Act 3 story until Eido tells you the organ is fully restored.
- Master the Slayer's Fang. You can only destroy the "Illusory Anchors" (those floaty transparent things) by aiming down sights with the Slayer's Fang itself. If you're hunting for the "Slayer of Kells" title, you'll need to do this alongside the organ puzzles.
- Run it on Expert for the Catalysts. While you can get the Intrinsic Frames (the "Nightsworn" sights) on Normal, the actual Catalysts—like Cascade Point or Repulsor Brace—require Expert completions and specific quest steps from Eido.
- Stack your tonics. Before you head in to grab the Frame IV reward, make sure your tonic pouch isn't full. It would be a shame to lose an exotic tonic just because you didn't clear some space.
The organ is a cool callback to the old music puzzles in the Tangled Shore. It’s not just a lock; it’s a piece of Scorn culture. Or whatever counts as culture for a bunch of undead ether-addicts. Get your codes in, get your shotgun upgraded, and get out before Fikrul starts talking again.
Next Step: Make sure you've unlocked all the keys by finishing your Act 3 fieldwork before attempting the secret boss code.
