You’ve seen the videos. Some player with a weirdly glowing gun absolutely shreds a Level 50 boss in about twelve seconds while you're sitting there with your base-model rifle wondering why your damage numbers look so pathetic.
It’s the Palworld legendary assault rifle.
Honestly, it’s basically the gold standard for endgame gear. Even with the newer updates and the fancy laser tech that’s been added recently, the "Legendary AR" remains the workhorse of the meta. It’s reliable. It’s fast. And getting it is a total nightmare if you don't know the specific loop.
Why the Palworld Legendary Assault Rifle Is Actually Broken
Let’s look at the numbers because they’re kind of ridiculous. A standard Assault Rifle you craft from your technology tab gives you an attack stat of 320. That’s fine for clearing out some syndicate thugs. But the Legendary version? It jumps all the way to 560 attack.

That’s a 75% increase.
You also get a magazine size boost to 30 rounds instead of the usual 20, and the durability is doubled to 6000. It basically means you spend less time reloading and significantly less time (and ancient civilization parts) repairing the thing at your bench.
The Blazamut Grind: Where to Find the Schematic
You can’t just unlock this with technology points. You need the Legendary Assault Rifle Schematic 4.
The primary way people get this is by bullying Blazamut, the Level 49 Alpha Pal. He lives in the Scorching Mineshaft. If you haven't found it yet, head to the volcanic region. The entrance is at coordinates -436, -529.
Finding the Mineshaft
Don't just fly over the marker on your map and wonder why he isn't there. He’s underground. You’ll see a path leading down into a cave near the foot of the volcano.
- Tip: Bring heat-resistant armor. It's hot. Obviously.
- Recommendation: Use Water-type Pals like Jormuntide or Azurobe. Blazamut is Fire/Ground, so they’ll soak up his hits while dealing decent STAB damage.
The "Capture and Butcher" Strategy
The drop rate for the schematic is low. We’re talking maybe 3% according to most player data. If you just kill him, you might be farming for weeks.
Smart players use the butcher method.
Basically, you go in and capture the Blazamut instead of killing him. This gives you your first "roll" at the loot table. Then, you take him back to your base and use the Meat Cleaver (or the Pal Disassembly Conveyor if you're feeling fancy/efficient) to butcher him.
Butchering an Alpha Pal triggers their loot table a second time. It effectively doubles your chances per encounter.

Important Note: Only Alpha versions drop the legendary schematic. If you breed two regular Blazamuts, the babies won't drop it unless they happen to hatch as Alphas, which is rare (about 5-10% chance).
Alternative Loot Locations in 2026
If you’re sick of looking at Blazamut’s face, there are other ways now.
The Oil Rig is the big one. The large chests at the end of a successful Rig run have a chance to drop high-level schematics, including the assault rifle. It’s technically "faster" if you’re already geared for the Rig, but the loot pool there is huge, so your odds of getting this specific gun are diluted.
There's also the Drafting Table. If you’ve been hoarding lower-tier schematics (Uncommon, Rare, Epic), you can combine five of the same level to upgrade to the next tier. It’s a grind, but it removes the pure RNG of the boss drops.
Is It Worth the Cost?
It's expensive. Let's be real. To craft one, you're going to need:
- 270 Refined Ingots
- 202 Carbon Fiber
- 67 Polymer
- 30 Ancient Civilization Parts
That is a massive sink of resources. If you’re playing on a server with standard drop rates, you’ll be mining coal and quartz for a long time.
But here’s the thing—once you have it, the game changes. You stop being the guy hiding behind a pillar while your Pals do all the work. You become the primary damage dealer. In the current 2026 meta, especially with the higher-level raid bosses, having that 560 attack stat is the difference between a win and a wipe.

Actionable Steps for Your Farm
- Adjust World Settings: If you’re on a solo world, turn the "Pal Appearance Rate" up to 3. This spawns three Blazamuts in the cave instead of one.
- Prepare the Cleaver: Make sure you have a Meat Cleaver crafted before you head out.
- Night Cycles: Blazamut respawns every 1 real-world hour (or less depending on server settings). Mark your map and set a timer.
- The Oil Rig Backup: Run the Oil Rig once per day to break up the monotony. The loot there is better overall, even if the AR chance is lower.
Once the schematic finally drops, don't forget you need a Weapon Assembly Line II to actually build it. Don't be like me and stand at a primitive bench for ten minutes wondering why the recipe isn't showing up.
