You know how it goes. Every year, EA Sports drops the new Madden numbers and half the league feels personally victimized. But honestly? Looking at the Raiders Madden 25 ratings, it feels like the "Madden Adjustors" might have a bit of a grudge against the Silver and Black this time around.
The Raiders are sitting at a 77 Overall team rating. 77. Let that sink in for a second. That puts them behind teams that haven't shown half the grit the Raiders did down the stretch last season under Antonio Pierce. It's wild. You've got a defense that was legitimately terrifying by December, yet the game treats them like a middle-of-the-road unit.
The Absolute Stars: Crosby and Adams
Let's start with the good news, because there isn't a ton of it once you get past the top of the roster. Maxx Crosby is a 97 Overall. That's fair. He’s an X-Factor, obviously. He's tied for the third-best defensive end rating in the game, only trailing guys like Myles Garrett and Micah Parsons. If you’ve ever played with Mad Maxx in Madden, you know he’s basically a human cheat code. His 97 pursuit and high finesse move ratings mean he lives in the opponent's backfield.
Then there’s Davante Adams at a 94 Overall. Some fans are mad he isn't a 99, especially since he’s been in the "99 Club" before. But 94 still keeps him as one of the elite wideouts in the game. His release is still lethal, and his route running is basically perfection. If you can’t get open with Davante in this game, that’s a "you" problem, not a "him" problem.
The Mid-Tier and New Faces
Christian Wilkins was a massive offseason snag, and EA gave him an 88 Overall. He’s the ninth-highest rated DT in the game. It’s a solid number, but honestly, seeing what he does next to Maxx in real life? He might be a 90 by the first roster update.

The offensive line is led by Kolton Miller at an 87 Overall. He’s been the anchor for years, so no real surprises there. Andre James follows him with an 80, which is a nice little bump from previous years.
The Rookie Class
Now, the rookies are always a gamble in Madden. Brock Bowers starts his career with a 78 Overall.
He’s actually the fourth-fastest tight end in the game with an 89 speed.
That’s dangerous.
If you’re running a Raiders theme team in Ultimate Team, Bowers is going to be your best friend on those seam routes.
- Brock Bowers (TE): 78
- Jackson Powers-Johnson (CPJ): 75
- Tommy Eichenberg (LB): 70
- DJ Glaze (OT): 69
The Quarterback Situation is... Rough
Here is where things get truly disrespectful. Gardner Minshew is a 73 Overall. Okay, fine. He’s a bridge vet. But Aidan O’Connell getting a 67 Overall? That’s just mean.
Basically, the game thinks O'Connell is on the same level as guys who haven't even started a full game. It's a gut punch for a guy who took over the starting job and showed some serious poise. If you're playing Franchise mode, your first priority is probably going to be trading for a QB or drafting a savior, because a 67/73 split is a nightmare to play with on All-Madden difficulty.

Speed Kills in Vegas
If there's one thing the Raiders always have, it's speed. Even after the Al Davis era, the tradition continues.
Jakorian Bennett is the fastest man on the team with a 96 Speed.
Tre Tucker is right behind him at 94.
Even rookie Decamerion Richardson is rocking a 94 speed.
Speed is the great equalizer in Madden. You can have a 77 overall team, but if you have 96 speed at corner and 94 at receiver, you can still ruin someone’s day online.
Why the Ratings Feel Wrong
The biggest issue is the defensive depth. Malcolm Koonce being a 72 Overall is arguably the biggest snub in the entire game. The man had 8 sacks last year! He was a force. Rating him below Tyree Wilson (73 Overall) makes zero sense based on last year’s tape.
Nate Hobbs and Tre'von Moehrig both landed at 81 Overall. They are solid, but after the way this secondary improved under Patrick Graham, it felt like they deserved a bit more love.
How to use the Raiders in Madden 25
If you’re brave enough to take the Silver and Black into Online Head-to-Head, here is the game plan:
- Feed Davante: Don't overthink it. Use his release to beat press coverage early.
- Bowers is a WR: Use Brock Bowers in the slot. His 89 speed is too much for most linebackers.
- The Crosby Effect: Don't control the d-line. Let Maxx do his thing while you user a linebacker like Robert Spillane (80 Overall) to take away the middle of the field.
- Scramble with Minshew: He’s not Lamar Jackson, but he’s more mobile than O'Connell. Use that 73 rating to buy time.
The Raiders Madden 25 ratings are a snapshot of how the national media and EA see the team: a group with elite top-end talent but a lot of question marks everywhere else. It’s up to you to prove them wrong on the virtual gridiron. Check the roster updates weekly, because if the Raiders start 2026 strong, these numbers are going to climb fast.
