You take that cookie to a ghost sitting in the western part of town—he’s a "Melee Matey." Give him the snack, beat him in a quick scrap, and he’ll leave behind a Shed Key.

Use that key on the locked shack right by the town’s bridge. Inside is a well. Hop down, and you’re in the studio.

Casual vs. Expert: The Stakes are Real

The Quiz Master doesn't just ask you a few questions and send you on your way. Every Question Pack has two difficulty settings.

  • Casual Mode: You need to get 6 questions right before you get 3 wrong. You also get Teaks to help you out with a few "Assists." It’s pretty chill.
  • Expert Mode: This is where the sweat starts. You have to answer every single question correctly. If you miss one, you’re out. You only get one Assist from Teaks for the entire round.

If you’re hunting for the Platinum trophy or 100% completion, you have to beat every pack on both difficulties. It sounds redundant, but the game tracks both.

You won't find these all at once. They are scattered across the world, often tucked into the very areas the questions are about.

  1. Question Pack 1: The Quiz Master just hands this to you. Consider it a pity prize for finding him.
  2. Question Pack 2: Port Town of Brisk. You have to get scammed by the "BS Roulette" guy first, then pay the dude standing outside 90 Gold to get the winning number.
  3. Question Pack 3: Haunted Mansion. Look through the bookshelves in the library.
  4. Question Pack 4: Jungle Path on Watcher Island. It’s in a chest floating in the water to the west.
  5. Question Pack 5: Songshroom Marsh. It's in a chest near Yomara’s house, specifically in the lower gate area.
  6. Question Pack 6: Cloud Kingdom. Check the Inn.
  7. Question Pack 7: Cerulean Expanse. This one is annoying. You have to follow a specific path: South, Southwest, Southeast, South.

  9. Question Pack 9: Repine. You’ll need to open the Cypher door to get this one.
  10. Question Pack 10: Fleshmancer’s Lair. It’s in the room right before the final boss encounter.

The Flimsy Hammer Mystery

Why bother with all this? Aside from the "Living Encyclopedia" achievement, the main draw is the Flimsy Hammer.

There are four Flimsy Hammers in the game. You get one for the True Ending, one for catching every fish, one for beating all the Wheels champions, and—you guessed it—one for clearing all the Quiz Master’s challenges.

If you take all four hammers to the Ancient Crypt on Settler’s Island, you can find a secret room. In the back of the crypt, there’s a broken gravestone you can push. Use the hammers to smash through a series of walls, and you’ll find a teleporter to a "Developer Room." It’s a heartfelt little area where the Sabotage Studio team left messages for the players. It’s honestly one of the best Easter eggs in recent JRPG history.

Tips for the Trickier Questions

Some of these questions are "gotchas." For example, do you remember the name of the training golem at Zenith Academy? It’s Wyrd. Or how much MP a regular attack recovers without gear? It’s 3.

The Quiz Master also loves asking about "using magic without using magic." The answer is always using Live Mana to boost.

Pack 11 is the toughest because it asks about specific numbers. For instance, the total number of unique fish species in the game is 23. If you haven't been keeping track of your fishing log, that one will trip you up every time.

  • Sell the Rewards: Every time you finish a pack, the Quiz Master gives you ores like Teal Amber or Obsidian. These have no use other than being sold. They’re basically just bags of cash to help you buy those expensive late-game accessories.
  • Backtrack after the Graplou: Don't wait until the end of the game to start the quizzes. The Graplou is the only hard requirement. If you start early, the lore will still be fresh in your mind.
