Who Is Doggy Dan?

Doggy Dan, or Dan Abdelnoor, is a behaviorist, trainer, and animal lover from New Zealand. He started his program after becoming frustrated with the lack of useful online dog training programs. He then left his corporate job to focus on his business full-time. In addition to canines, he also works with other animals like horses, and he owns a cat, which he freely admits is “untrainable.”

Dan not only trains dogs full-time but also makes house calls to real people and their dogs. All of his training videos are made using real-life consultations and are not staged. Dan is also a member of the APDT, the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. Since 2006, he has worked with over 1000 dogs and puppies, either one-on-one or in group settings.

How Does The Program Work?

I signed up for the 7-day free trial. This gave me access to all his programs and allowed me to decide if I wanted to upgrade to the $57 instant access program.

I was immediately taken to the home page and received an email with my log-in information. I started by watching the tour video, where Dan explains how to navigate the website and which programs he recommends starting with. There is a drop-down menu that offers “courses” and lists all the different training courses included in your membership.

There is also a “resources” tab with other information like books, FAQs, a one-on-one session offering, a tour video, and account information. There is also a “forum community” tab where you can ask Dan and other members questions, but this is not available under the “trial.”.

The Doggy Dan Online Dog Trainer program offers a pack of six courses, beginning with the dog calming code course, which is also available in audio book form. From here, you can choose different courses depending on you and your dog’s training needs.

  • We purchased the program with our own money, not in exchange for a favorable review

What Doggy Dan Offers

Doggy Dan Online Training Review

Doggy Dan’s training philosophy is based on the idea of a pack mentality balanced with techniques like correction-style training and positive reinforcement. This is also known as “alpha training” or “dog whispering.” This will be reinforced throughout the training videos.

Leadership and the “5 Golden Rules,” or being the “pack leader,” are the basis of training, according to Dan. This is all covered in his “Cracking the Code” course. In this, he teaches you to become the pack leader through methods like “gesture eating” or “ignoring your dog after desperation.”. There is also a PDF of the 5 Golden Rules that you can download and print out for quick reference.

After establishing that you are the pack leader and have completed the “Dog Calming Code” course, your next course is “Tools and Techniques.” This part focuses more on behavior and how to use different techniques when walking your dog. This includes walking your dog with a long and short leash, walking together, stopping to change directions, whistle training, and more.

There is also a puppy training program that walks you through the steps of bringing a puppy home, housebreaking, dealing with chewing, and other puppy behaviors. As a bonus to this program, there is a section called “Project Moses,” which is Dan’s personal experience with his pup Moses. This document documents Dan raising the puppy from 8 weeks to one year of age.
There are other helpful videos and programs like “All Dog Problems Solved,” in which you get to see the actual training to stop any barking, pulling on the leash, aggression, jumping, or not coming when called.

Price

The Doggy Dan program offers different membership options. As of my last update, there were monthly and yearly subscription plans available. The monthly plan typically ranged around $37 per month, and the yearly plan was approximately $147 for a year.

However, prices might vary or change over time, and there might be occasional promotions or discounts. It’s advisable to check the Doggy Dan website for the most current pricing information.

Why Online Training?

The most obvious reason for doing an online dog training program is the cost. Personal dog trainers will cost you $30 to $100 an hour, but Doggy Dan only charges $47 for instant access.

You will also have to work with the trainer’s schedule, but online training means you can do it on your own time. This also means you can teach your dog yourself and build your relationship.

If at any point in the first two months after, you’re not happy with your purchase, you’re covered by our ‘60 Day Money Back Guarantee’.

Does Doggy Dan Really Work?

The Doggy Dan Online Dog Trainer Program is ideal for those who need to train their dog but are not comfortable using methods like shock collars and harsh punishments. What I liked about it was that I could work with my dog when I had the time in his own environment.

I also liked the large selection of videos for any and all types of behavior issues. It is not likely you will find a less expensive program that is much cheaper than an in-person dog trainer, who can cost you anywhere from $30 to $100 an hour.
