After years of research and hard work, husband and wife Isaac and Jacqueline Prehogan, along with brother-in-law Derek started Open Farm. Their goal was to do more than just change what their pet food contained but to also rethink the way it was made.
That means not only sourcing the highest quality ingredients, but also supporting farmers who treat their animals right. Open Farm was born from the simple idea that pet food can both be good for your pet, and do some good for farm animals and the environment.
Open Farm uses only the highest quality ingredients to give your pet the premium nutrition they deserve. That means humanely raised meat free from antibiotics and growth hormones, non-GMO fruits & veggies and functional superfoods go into the recipes.
Sourcing And Manufacturing
Open Farm is committed to feeding your pup the best by using ethically sourced ingredients. They partner with family farms that raise their animals humanely with kindness and respect. Higher quality of life for farm animals, also means higher quality ingredients for your pet.
Nearly all of their ingredients are sourced in Canada and the United States with the exception of coconut oil and certain vitamins and minerals that are not available in North America. These particular vitamins and minerals are sourced from Europe and the coconut oil comes from Indonesia, the Philippines or Thailand. They source their Lamb and Venison from New Zealand.

Open Farm dog food can be quite expensive, depending on which type of food you go with. The dry food will run you about 30 cents per ounce but their freeze-dried raw food is almost three dollars an ounce. If you have more than one dog or a large dog it can add up fast.
